I lost my password. How do I log in?

What is your furniture made from?

Our furniture is made from solid hardwood. This preserves its use not just for years but for generations to come.

How many base heights do your cot beds have?

Our cot beds come with either two or three mattress heights.

Do all your cot beds turn into a toddler bed?

Most of our cots transition into toddler beds by having removable sides. This allows your little one to use the same bed for up to five years. Toddler beds are also lower to the ground than a standard single, making them a safer option for little ones.

What size mattress do I need?

Depending on the cot, crib or Moses basket you purchased, we have different options for mattresses you can buy.

What should I do if my baby is using his/her cot for teething?

Always check the cot base has been lowered to the bottom position, as this will reduce the chance of your baby reaching up to chew on the top. The lowest base position is the safest and you should always use it as soon as your baby is able to sit up unaided. Our cots are finished in child-safe paints for your peace of mind.

What is the difference between a rocker and a glider?

The way they move is what distinguishes a rocker from a glider. A rocker's arched legs create a swaying motion and typically a stronger movement. A glider is relatively more stationary, moving back and forth on a mechanism, and tends to offer an almost noiseless, smoother ride.

How do I care for my furniture?

Simply wipe down your furniture with a dampened cloth. Then wipe away any remaining moisture with a dry cloth. Use cotton, as synthetic fibers can cause surface scratches.

Is any assembly required for your products?

Yes, assembly is required in most of our products. You can either assemble it yourself or we can do it for you.

Are any of your products available in COM (customer's own material)?

We also accept client's own materials (COM) either as fabrics or wallpapers.

What is the most spacious glider or rocker chair you offer?

Our Salome Glider is quite spacious, but because we make our furniture to order, we can accommodate larger sizes. Just ask.

How should I clean and maintain my Crib or Moses Basket?

The linens from your crib and Moses Basket are fully washable on a gentle cycle in a washing machine.

Can I buy just the Moses basket bedding from you?

We do not recommend this because each Moses Basket is made individually by hand for our baskets. The bedding may not fit your basket perfectly.

Can I use the Moses Basket without the base?

Moses Baskets can be used without the stand, but our cribs are designed to be used with the stand for safety.

Can my baby sleep in the Moses Basket?

Moses baskets are appropriate for newborns and should only be used until your baby is around three months old.

Can I buy the stand separately?

Our stand is designed to be used for a range of Moses Baskets, but without knowing the dimensions and style, we won't be able to tell.

Customer Service

I have seen an item on your Instagram that isn’t on your website. How do I order it?

Some of our items are exclusive and not available on the website, but this does not mean they are not available to purchase. Send us an email or a message via WhatsApp and we'll help you with your order.

I can't get to your store to visit you in person. Can I arrange a video call?

Yes. For that you will need to book an appointment with a member of staff. You can drop us an email at design@thebabycotshp.com. Alternatively, you can call us on 020 3371 7530 and we will be happy to assist you.

Do you offer a designer discount?

We work with a small selection of interior designers who wish to realise their clients' dream. Fill out a trade application form to be considered.

Does The Baby Cot Shop go on sale?

We have our annual sale in January and occasional special offers. Members of our Mum Squad enjoy discounts throughout the year.

How do I contact The Baby Cot Shop?

When are your stores open?

We are open from 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday to Saturday. On Sunday we open at 12 pm and close at 4 pm. We open on Mondays by appointment.

Where are your stores located?

We are located on King's Road in Chelsea, London. Our address is 408 King's Road, London SW10 0LJ.

Do you offer a gift wrapping and messaging service?

Yes, we offer gift wrapping. Simply indicate that your purchase is a gift, along with the message at checkout and we will include a handwritten note with your order.

How do I book a personal shopper?

Gift Cards

What are E-Gift Cards?

They are  functionally the same as a traditional physical gift card. The only difference is digital delivery. Cash value loaded on to a plastic gift card isn't actually on the gift card itself. Gift cards themselves don't contain the cash value loaded onto them.

Where can I buy an E-gift card?

You can buy our E-gift cards from our website. The gift card is then sent by email, and can be redeemed online and in the shop.

Where can I use my E-gift card?

It can be redeemed online and in shops.

What can I buy with my E-gift card?

Use your gift card to pay for any items on our website or in store.

How can I check my E-gift card balance?

Please email us and we will reply with your balance.

What safety standards do your mattresses meet?

Our Mattresses comply with all safety standards (BS7177, BS 1877 Part 10, BS 5852-2:1982).

Do you use any stain resistant chemicals?

We do not. But if you want your upholstered furniture pre-treated against stains, we can arrange that.

What should I do if I have a delivery query?

Where are your products made?

Our products are made and manufactured in Europe.

Is the Moses Basket breathable?

Yes, they are. Our Moses Baskets are woven from palm and lined with breathable synthetic padding.

Do your glues contain formaldehyde?

The glues and paint finishes used on our furniture are baby friendly.

What materials are used for your cribs?

Our cribs are made from wicker or wood, then dressed in OEKO-TEX certified linen.

Can I swaddle my baby in the Moses Basket?

Yes, you can. We recommend swaddling your newborn with thin breathable cotton, as opposed to covering with a loose blanket. You may also use a sleeping bag. The pillow and quilt supplied with the Moses baskets are purely decorative and should not be used to cover your baby.

Can my baby sleep in the Moses Basket?

Your baby can sleep in the Moses basket from when they are newborn until they are three months old, or weigh 9kg. If the Moses basket is used for sleeping through the night, we recommend upgarding your mattress to a firm organic mattress.

Is it okay to move my Moses Basket from room to room?

Your Moses basket is designed to be used in any room, as it is portable.

What if my baby is rolling over?

Once your baby begins to roll over, he/she should be moved into a cot.

What is the difference between a Moses basket and a crib?

Moses baskets are smaller and designed to be used until age three months. Cribs are larger and can be used until your baby is six months. Cribs typically come with a fixed stand for safety, while Moses baskets come with a removable stand.

What materials are used for Moses baskets?

Our Moses baskets are woven with natural plant materials of palm or wicker, then dressed in OEKO-TEX certified linen.

Can I carry my baby in the Moses Basket?

You can carry your baby while in the Moses Basket by placing one hand under the basket and the other holding the handle.

What is your returns policy?

We accept returns on in-stock items. Returned items need to be in a saleable condition, non-customised, unused and unpacked. Returns must be made within 14 days of purchase. Unfortunately, we can not refund delivery charges if you change your mind. Please note that fabrics, wallpaper, made-to-order, bespoke, discounted or sale items are non-refundable, non-returnable and not exchageable.

There is an item missing from my order.

If you have an item missing from your order, please let us know within 48hrs of your order being delivered and we will do our best to help you. Please email our customer service at design@thebabycotshop.com

Can I add an item to my order?

Yes, you can. Email or call us with the item in question and it will be added to your existing order.

Can I track my order?

Yes, you can track non-furniture orders. Once your package ships, we will send you a tracking number. Large item delivery cannot be tracked as it is delivered as a door to door service. We will always update you on the delivery date and time slot before it is dispatched.

I want to place an order, but I’m not sure of the color/fabric. Can I choose the fabric after I place my order?

Yes, you can. You can decide on the fabric up to two weeks after placing your order. Visit us in-store to see sample options, or request samples to be posted to you. You are welcome to send us your own fabric too which will need to be firetreated.

How long does it take to get my order?

Delivery times vary as products are made to order, and the time differs for each. Please check on the product page for likely approximate length of delivery times or simply call us to ask. Once your order is completed, we will contact you to agree definite arrangements for the date of delivery. Every effort is made to see that the approximate delivery date is accurate, but on rare occasions there may be delays through circumstances beyond our control. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed.

How much does shipping cost?

Delivery costs are based on your order total. Delivery to door costs are as follows: Orders worth £2.00–£100.00 attract £7.99 delivery fees; Orders worth £100.00–£500.00 attract £17.99 delivery fees; Orders worth £500.00–£1,200.00 attract £23.99 delivery fees; Orders worth £1,200.00–£2,000.00 attract £30.00 delivery fees; Orders worth £2,000.00–£15,000.00 attract £80.00 delivery fees. Assembly is available, upcharge will be applied for this. Please get in touch if you require delivery with assembly.

I received a faulty item. What do I do?

If something's gone wrong with an item you've bought, you might be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement. Please let us know within 24 hrs of your order being delivered and we'll do our best to help you.

How do I cancel my order?

To cancel a non-bespoke order, email us as soon as you decide to cancel. If it has already been dispatched you will need to send it back. Bespoke/ made-to-order items can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order as we go into production immediately after your order is placed.

How is the warranty?

Our furniture is subject to a 12-month limited warranty period starting on the day of purchase. The warranty covers any defects in materials used to manufacture your product and defects in workmanship under normal use. It does not cover damage from negligence, misuse modification, fair wear and tear, theft or loss. For our full terms of warranty please send an email to customer service.

How long will it take to get my refund?

We aim to process refunds within 14 days of receipt of the goods, although it is often quicker than this. If our collection service is used, the charge will be deducted from your refund. All refunds are processed to your original method of payment.

Can I place a website order over the phone?

How can I make a payment?

Payment can be made in store, online or over the phone. We accept all major credit and debit cards, Paypal, Klarna and bank transfer.

Are the colours in the product photos on the website an accurate reflections of the actual products’ colours?

Colours on computer or phone screens vary from device to device; the best way to ensure the perfect colour match is to request a sample.

How do I give someone a gift using The Baby Cot Shop?

Our Gift Cards are ready to be used as soon as they arrive in your recipient's inbox; a gift from The Baby Cot Shop will be treasured for years to come. Cards can be purchased in multiple denominations and are delivered immediately via email. Physical cards can be purchased in-store and mailed to the recipient if preferred.

When should my order be paid in full to guarantee my requested delivery date?

We require a 50% deposit upfront to begin production of your order, with the balance due two weeks before it is due to ship.

Shipping Policy

When is my order going to ship?

Delivery times are displayed next to each product. As a guide, BCS furniture, including Gliders ship in 8-10 weeks; Bedlinens, cribs and Moses baskets ship in 4-6 Weeks; Savio Firmino Collection ships in 12-16 eeks. Please note this are estimated delivery times for UK deliveries.

I need my order ASAP. Do you offer a Rush Service?

We always do our best to help have orders delivered quicker if possible. If you need your order urgently, you may want to consider our Priority Processing service which is available on selected items. Where applicable, it will be an additional 10% of the cost.

What is your return policy?

VAT is payable for items shipping within the United Kingdom. For everywhere else, VAT is not charged. However, local taxes and duties may apply at arrival.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship worldwide. International shipping quotes can be requested before placing your order. If you wish to get a quote, please email customer service.

Do you deliver to the UK and Ireland?

Yes, we do.

Can I return or exchange a product I bought on the website at the store?

Yes, you can. Email us with your order number and reasons for returning the item. You should return goods to us in their original packaging and as soon as possible after informing us of your wish to refund or exchange the item. Please note that we will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the goods during the return transit and we recommend that you use a recorded or secure delivery method. If goods are lost or damaged in transit, we may charge you, or not refund to you amounts that are attributable to the loss or damage. Please note that discounted or sale items are non-refundable and non-returnable. Custom-made or bespoke product items like personalised gifts, made-to-order furniture, furnishings, wallpapers and fabrics, are non-returnable, non-refundable and can not be exchanged. All goods must be inspected 24h following delivery and will be repaired or replaced free of charge if found to be defective or damaged in any way arising from defects in manufacturing or delivery by our representatives.

Do I have to pay for the return shipping?

Yes, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.
