Here at The Baby Cot Shop, we love International Women’s Day, not just because we have an all-female, powerhouse team behind our boutique store, but it’s also a day to commend women’s achievements and put the spotlight on gender equality. When is International Women’s Day? It falls every year on 8th March. And this International Women’s Day is about celebrating the women in your life, whether it’s family, friends or someone you look up to. So to mark this special day, here are 5 incredible and inspirational mums, from celebrity mums to businesswomen, who we should all look up to. Happy International Women’s Day!
Made in Chelsea star, Louise Thompson, is an inspiring mum. We love her for many reasons, but the main one being that she remains her true self through her content on Instagram, which is especially refreshing as many celebrity mums filter their life and leave out the ‘low’ points. She continuously opens up on social media about the traumatic birth of her son Leo, in the aim to help others suffering from PTSD. Louise is also a businesswoman, having founded wellness community Turtle Method and sports brand Pocket Sport. Her positivity, authenticity and honesty continue to inspire us and teach us what others are going through, so there’s no one better to celebrate this International Women’s Day.
Inspirational speaker, Author and mum to Wolfe, Roxie is motivated to changing people’s lives. Inspiring others to turn their life around through manifestation, she’s published Manifest: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life and Manifest: Dive Deeper – and we’ve got to say, we’re big believers in the practice. Hosting live workshops and sharing her expertise on Instagram, we’re addicted to her positive outlooks this International Women’s Day and beyond.
- Toks Aruoture
It wouldn’t be International Women’s Day if we didn’t celebrate our very own founder, Toks Aruoture. The mum of four, businesswoman and internationally acclaimed entrepreneur behind The Baby Cot Shop (home to the elegant Balmoral Collection and Interior Design Consultations), she brings her nursery interior design expertise into everything she does. When she’s not designing the next bespoke collection for The Baby Cot Shop, she’s travelling the country public speaking, coaching and mentoring businesswomen and young people. She’s also the host of the inspiring Living Inside Out podcast and has been featured in The Times and The Telegraph.
- Ashley James
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating presenter, DJ and Alfie’s mummy, Ashley James. We love that she shared her breastfeeding journey openly to her followers, through the tough moments and rewardable ones, and was honest about each stage and how it impacted her. On Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine chat show, she showed the reality of being a working mum and wasn’t afraid to breastfeed her child on air, which takes a lot of courage and passion.
- Rochelle Humes
Mum of three, presenter and businesswoman, Rochelle Humes is definitely one of the famous mums to be celebrated on International Women’s Day. Not only do we love her interior design style (have you seen her son Blake’s monochrome nursery), but we also admire the success of her baby hair and skincare business, My Little Coco, after launching it just as the pandemic hit. In short, there’s nothing Rochelle Humes can’t do.
