Three Thought Patterns I’m Replacing in 2025

It is the start of the year, and I have been sitting with 2024. What I learned. What I will carry forward. What I am leaving behind.

Growth is not always about adding. Sometimes it is about replacing the patterns that no longer serve you.

Here is what I am replacing as I step into 2025.

Hesitation with courage.

For years, self-consciousness held me back. Sharing ideas, stepping into opportunities, asking for help. I hesitated at all of it. What I realised this year is that self-consciousness is more interested in how you appear than how far you go.

The shift started when I decided to take my public speaking seriously. I stopped overthinking and started sending emails, asking for guidance, reaching out to people I admired, even when it felt uncomfortable. The connections that came from that still surprise me. Courage does not mean the fear disappears. It means you move anyway.

Guardedness with connection.

For a long time, I told myself I did not need new friendships. That belief came from real places. Betrayals, disappointments, the kind of hurt that makes you careful. But I learned this year that carrying the weight of other people's choices is a choice too, and not one I want to keep making.

Releasing old fences has let in some of the most authentic, life-giving relationships I have ever had. I did not expect that. I am grateful for it.

Inconsistency with discipline.

This one changed everything. I stopped consulting my emotions before taking action. Whether it felt convenient or not, I showed up. For the podcast, for the classes, for The Baby Cot Shop, for myself.

Consistency is not a feeling. It is a decision you make before the day begins. Small, steady steps. Appointments kept with yourself. Your word meaning something, especially to you.

As we step into 2025, do not let hesitation, old wounds, or inconsistency write the story. You have everything you need.

Here is to an audacious year.
