Our furniture is made from  solid hardwood. This preserves its use not just for years but for generations to come.

Our cot beds come with either 2 or three mattress heights.

Most of our cots transition into toddler beds by having removable sides. This allows your little one to use the same bed for up to five years. Toddler beds are also lower to the ground than a standard single, making them a safer option for little ones.

Depending upon the cot, crib or Moses basket you purchased we have different options for the mattresses you can buy.

Always check the cot base has been lowered to the bottom position, as this will reduce the chance of your baby reaching up to chew on the top. The lowest base position is the safest and you should always use it as soon as your baby able to sit up unaided. Our cots are finished in child-safe paints for your peace of mind.

The way they move is what distinguishes a rocker from a glider. The rocker's arched legs create a swaying motion and typically a stronger movement while a glider is stationary; moving back and forth on a mechanism and tend to offer an almost noiseless, smoother ride.

Simply wipe down your furniture with a dampened cloth. Then wipe away any remaining moisture with a dry cloth. Use cotton, as synthetic fibers can cause surface scratches.

Yes, assembly is required in most of our products. You can either assemble it yourself or we can do it for you.

We also accept client's own materials (COM) either as fabrics or wallpapers.

Our Salome Glider is quite spacious, but because we make our furniture to order, we can accommodate larger sizes, just ask.

The linens from your crib and Moses Basket are fully washable on a gentle cycle in a washing machine.

We do not recommend this because each Moses Basket is made individually by hand for our baskets. The bedding may not fit your basket perfectly.

Moses Baskets can be used without the stand, but our cribs are designed to be used with the stand for safety.

Moses baskets only appropriate for newborns and should only be used until your baby is around three months old.

Our stand is designed to be used for a range of Moses Baskets, but without knowing the dimensions and style, we won't be able to tell.

Fitted sheets are best for your cot, and they are available to purchase on our website or in-store.

To prevent it from growing, store the basket in a dry, well lit and well ventilated area; mold thrives in dark, damp places. Check the stored basket regularly for telltale black spots, even if you don't use it often, and clean it as soon as you notice any. Mold control is especially important when babies are involved.

Our Cots do not come with a mattress. These would have to be purchased separately.

A standard foam mattress is included on our Moses Baskets and Cribs. However, you can choose to upgrade to an organic mattress.

We have our annual sale in January and occasional special offers. Members of our Mum Squad enjoy discounts throughout the year.

We are open from 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday to Saturday. On Sunday we open at 12 pm and close at 4 pm. We open on Mondays by appointment.

Yes, we offer gift wrapping. Simply indicate that your purchase is a gift, along with the message at checkout and we will include a handwritten note with your order.

They are  functionally the same as a traditional physical gift card . The only difference is digital delivery. Cash value loaded on to a plastic gift card isn't actually on the gift card itself. Gift cards themselves don't contain the cash value loaded onto them.

You can buy our E-gift cards from our website which is then sent by email which can be redeemed online and in the shop.

Our Mattresses comply with all standards (BS7177, BS 1877 Part 10, BS 5852-2:1982)

We do not, but if you want your upholstered furniture pre-treated against stains, we can arrange that.

Yes, they are. Our Moses Baskets are woven from palm and lined with breathable synthetic padding.

The glues and paint finishes used on our furniture are baby friendly.

Our Cribs are made from wicker or wood, then dressed in Oeko tex certified linen.

Yes you can. We recommend swaddling your newborn with a thin breathable cotton, as opposed to covering with a loose blanket. You may also use a sleeping bag. The Pillow and Quilt supplied with the moses baskets are purely decorative and should not be used to cover your baby.

Your baby can sleep in the Moses Basket from when they are newborn unit they are three months old, or weigh 9kg. If the moses basket is used for sleeping through the night, we recommend upgarding your mattress to an firm organic mattress.

Your Moses Basket is designed to be used in any room, as it is portable.

Once your baby begins to roll over, he/she should be moved into a cot.

Moses Baskets are smaller and designed to be used until age three months. Cribs are larger and can be used until your baby is six months. Cribs typically come with a fixed stand for safety, while Moses Baskets come with a removable stand.

Our Moses baskets are woven with natural plant materials of palm or wicker, then dressed in Oeko tex certified linen.

You can carry your baby while in the Moses Basket by placing one hand under the basket and the other holding the handle.

We accept returns on in-stock items, they need to be in a saleable condition, non-customised, unused and unpacked. Returned items need to be in a saleable condition, return made within 14 days of purchase.

Unfortunately, we can not refund delivery charges if you change your mind.

Please note that that Fabrics, Wallpaper, made-to-order, bespoke, discounted or sale items are non-refundable, non-returnable and not exchageable.

Yes , you can. Email or call us with the item in question and it will be added to your existing order.

Yes, you can track non-furniture orders. Once your package ships, we will send you a tracking number. Large item delivery cannot be tracked as it is delivered as a door to door service, we will always update you on the delivery date and time slot before it is dispatched.

Yes, you can. You can decide on the fabric up to two weeks after placing your order. Visit us in-store to see sample options, or request samples to be posted to you. You are welcome to send us your own fabric too which will need to be firetreated.

Delivery times vary as products are made to order, and the time differs for each. Please check on the product page for likely approximate length of delivery times or simply call us to ask. Once your order is completed we will contact you to agree definite arrangements for the date of delivery. Every effort is made to see that the approximate delivery date is accurate, but on rare occasions there may be delays through circumstances beyond our control. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed.

If something's gone wrong with an  item  you've bought, you might be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement. Please let us know within 24 hrs of your order being delivered and we'll do our best to help you.

To cancel a non-bespoke order, email us as soon as you decide to cancel. If it has already been dispatched you will need to send it back. Bespoke/ Made To order items can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order as we go into production immediately after your order is placed.

Our furniture is subject to a 12-month limited warranty period starting on the day of purchase. The warranty covers any defects in materials used to manufacture your product and defects in workmanship under normal use. It does not cover damage from negligence, misuse modification, fair wear and tear, theft or loss. For our full terms of warranty please send an email to customer service.

We aim to process refunds within 14 days of receipt of the goods, although it is often quicker than this. If our collection service is used, the charge will be deducted from your refund. All refunds are processed to your original method of payment.

Once you have placed your order, the message 'Thank you, your order has been placed.' will appear along with a summary of your order. You will then receive confirmation via email.

You  can return a gift if you have proof of purchase, and know the date the gift was received if it was bought online. Also, it will need to be in a saleable condition and in its original packaging.

You  can return your item in-store or by post. If our collection service is used, the charge will be deducted from your refund.

Colours on computer or phone screens vary from device to device; the best way to ensure the perfect colour match is to request a sample.

Our Gift Cards are ready to be used as soon as they arrive in your recipient's inbox; a gift from The Baby Cot Shop will be treasured for years to come. Cards can be purchased in multiple denominations and are delivered immediately via email. Physical cards can be purchased in-store and mailed to the recipient if preferred.

We require a 50% deposit upfront to begin production of your order, with the balance due two weeks before it is due to ship.

We always do our best to help have orders delivered quicker if possible. If you need your order urgently, you may want to consider our Priority Processing service which is available on selected items. Where applicable it will be an additional 10% of the cost.

You should return goods to us in their original packaging and as soon as possible after informing us of your wish to refund or exchange the item.

If goods are lost or damaged in transit, we may charge you, or not refund to you, amounts that are attributable to the loss or damage.

Please note that discounted or sale items are non-refundable and non-returnable.

Custom Made or, bespoke product items like personalised gifts, made-to-order furniture, furnishings, wallpapers and fabric, are non-returnable, non-refundable and can not be exchanged.

All goods must be inspected 24h following delivery and will be repaired or replaced free of charge if found to be defective or damaged in any way arising from defects in manufacturing or delivery by our representatives.

For small items, we use a 48hr courier service. For large furniture, you can opt for standard delivery to your door, or white-glove (two-man) delivery to include assembly in a room of choice. Items can also be collected from our Chelsea showroom.

For large furniture pieces ETA's are supplied the day before thw previously agreed delivery date.

For large furniture pieces we will be in touch to book a suitable date and ETA's are supplie the day before delivery.

If you are awaiting delivery of large furniture, we will arrange a suitable date when production is complete. Then we will follow with a time slot 24 hours before the agreed delivery date.

We will endeavour to deliver all your items together, but if we have to deliver separately, you won't be charged for additional deliveries.

If you have an item missing from your order, please let us know within 48hrs of your order being delivered and we'll do our best to help you. Please email customer service at design@thebabycotshop.com.

Our courier partners will attempt redelivery or leave a card for you to arrange redelivery. For furniture delivery, we may have to charge a redelivery fee if you are not available on the day you agreed to.

If a 48h service is not suitable, please contact customer service before placing your order, to schedule your delivery for a particular date.

Our courier will always have to take proof of delivery this cloud be in a form of signature or picture. 

In general, you will find a card in your mailbox, or an email, stating that they tried to deliver your package. On there you will find instructions about what to do. In most cases you don't have to do anything, and the package is offered again the next day.

Furniture is professionally packed in cardboard if delivery is within the United Kingdom. For international orders, it will arrive on a pallet or in a wooden crate.
