Top Springtime Playroom Ideas!

It's official Spring is here! The days are staying lighter for longer, the first sights of Blossoms in bloom and the weather is definitely a degree or two warmer. Thinking of updating your play room? Take a look at our top springtime playroom ideas, say goodbye to winter & hello to Spring! Use a splash of paint Painting is a brilliant way to instantly update your play room with colour. Children respond to bright colors and large patterns, so don’t be afraid to go bold! You don't need to paint the whole room either, a painted feature wall can have just as much if not more of an impact as it creates interest with a focal area. Pick a main neutral colour for the room colour and incorporate accents of brighter 'spring like', colours with the feature wall & accessories. Try a sample pot on a piece of paper or card and place it in the room looking at how the colour changes at different times of the day. For ideas on beautiful colour combinations and advice on the different finishes available take a look on the Farrow & Ball website – www.farrow-ball.com, or visit one of their many showrooms or stockists to see colour boards and talk to the team. For a spring inspired playroom we would suggest using a combination of the pretty pastel colours below you could mix all of them or just a couple depending on if the playroom is for your little boy or girl. There are many different designs and colours to choose from and you will be easily find one that matches your colour scheme perfectly. Think about the room shape when choosing your rug, is it a large rectangular room or is it a small room with an unusual shape? If its the latter then a smaller oval shaped rug would probably work best. Purchase a machine washable rug so that accidental spillages or wandering crayons instances can be dealt with efficiently. Butterflies Rug Add Storage

One thing a playroom cannot do without is storage! Albeit on the wall with wall shelving or a free standing storage/shelving unit. Free standing units need to be kept fairly low so that your little one can reach the objects they would like by themselves. How about up-cycling? If you already have a treasured storage unit why not give it a new lease of life by adding a lick of paint or maybe some fun door knobs, like our yellow dots door knob below? [caption id="attachment_2523" align="aligncenter" width="232"]Yellow Dots Door Knob Yellow Dots Door Knob[/caption] Wall storage will take up less floor space allowing more room for toys and play, opt for a handy organiser that has multiple pockets to store smaller items. Choose a subtle grosgrain or dot fabric that will tie in with your Springtime theme. Brighten up the room by hanging some spring inspired artwork in fun & vibrant colours that match your room scheme. How about writing some of your favourite inspirational quotes, placing them in decorative frames and hanging them on the wall? You could even hang  your children's own artworks as well. They get to be creative and will feel proud when they see their own work being displayed on the walls, whilst adding to the decor and feel of the room making it more personal. A table  provides an elevated surface for every activity from tea time to Play-Doh to colouring and reading. Choose a bright set painted in Spring like colours for a fun & light airy feel to your playroom. Yellows, lime greens, sky blues & pinks are all vibrant colours which you would associate with Spring our activity table is very spring like indeed. We adore this Butterfly play house from our friends at  Win Green, it's so spring-like too with its cute butterfly and flower decor.
