Fall in Love with our Captivating New Range of Geometric Rugs

Posted by Joanne Truby on 7th Apr 2015

Geometric is a huge trend at the moment particularly within interior design and with that in mind we wanted to showcase our new range of geometric printed rugs; hexagons, stars, crosses and church floor which have just been added to The Baby Cot Shop. Geometric prints add fun and energy to a nursery or kids room even in more neutral spaces. Here are some of our top tips for decorating with geometric prints in your nursery or kids room.

Less is more as they say, be mindful not to over crowd the room with too many brightly colour prints keep it simple and elegant. A good way to do this is by sticking to neutral colours for the majority of the walls (you may want to include a feature wall which is fine) and furniture. Then introduce the geometric prints through other elements of the room design such as the bedding, accessories and rugs.

Use a striking design, it will add visual depth and interest to a design. For example a pattern that is essentially made up of one single shape but repeated like our geometric stars rug for example which will add a bold statement but will not overwhelm or dominate a space.

Limit your colours,  if you can't decide on a single pattern but still want to create a coherent scheme opt to choose different designs but in the same colour to keep the room understated & stylish. Grey is very popular at the moment as it is such a versatile neutral colour that will go with any colour you pair it with. Grey also has a real luxury appeal to it & isn't as stark as black so blends really well with other shades. You could have a colour scheme made up solely of grey's in light and dark shades. Our Hexagons rug would work beautifully in a grey scheme nursery or kids room.
